My name is Ian Davies and I live near Mumbles on the beautiful Gower peninsula. After 34 years working in the City of London as a risk manager, I took early retirement to study Christian Apologetics at Biola University in Los Angeles and graduated with my MA in December 2018. I have since embarked on a part-time PhD in philosophy at University of Birmingham, researching informational realism and its application to Christian doctrines of the soul.
I am a certified Reasonable Faith Chapter Director and my mission is to share what I have learned with people in South Wales.
I am also the owner of idearisk ltd. and I provide education and advice to asset managers in the fields of financial adequacy (IFPR, MIFIDPRU, ICARA, etc.), enterprise risk and operational risk. I run scheduled courses in these subjects for the Investment Association on a regular basis throughout the year and I am also available to organisations who require training and advice. I specialise in board and senior management training and have helped a number of firms to prepare for supervisory review visits by the FCA.
